Color Relaxation

Did you know the colors we wear everyday, see everyday, and decorate our home and office with impact how we feel and what we do in life? It’s true. You see, buying wind chimes is a great start for relaxation, but not the only thing you can (or need to ) do to achieve real relaxation.

According the design firm 99 colors, “Red, orange, and yellow are next to each other on the wheel and are all warm colors. Warm colors often evoke feelings of happiness, optimism and energy. However, yellow and orange can also slightly irritate the eyes and red can increase a person’s appetite. Think about fast food restaurants like McDonald’s or KFC – most of these places incorporate the color yellow and red. Why? Because they want people to get hungry and then eat quickly.”

Colors like blue, green or purple are great for inspiring creativity and relaxing, unlike the red, orange and/or yellow. Many wind chimes are sold in a wide-array of colors. While this might help you relax, you do have to be cautious and check where the paint was derived from to be used on the wind chime.

If you want to relax, place your wind chimes in a setting saturated with cool colors (purple, green and/or blue) for a double effect. Wind chimes will appeal to your ears while the color scheme will help relax your mind.
